GMC End to Enders Guide
« on: February 19, 2011, 08:23:19 AM »
If I recall GMC usually updates the End to Enders Guide every two years or so. Will there be a new guide for 2011 ??  Is Bob McCaw still editing the guide ??

I note that the Green Mountain Club's website at https://www.greenmountainclub.org no longer lists the e2e guide in their online store.  At one point the online version at longtrailhiking.info was supposed to contain the most up-to-date version but there have been no updates for over a year.

The GMC's Managing Editor is Susan Shea ( sshea@greenmountainclub.org ) and you may want to inquire with her.

Update:  Bob McCaw posted on Whiteblaze.net today that the 2011 edition of the e-2-e guide will be out sometime in March:

I am trying to plan an End-to-End this summer and and could not for the life of me find anyplace that had the end-to-ender's guide in stock.  I put in a call to the Green Mountain Club.  In the meantime I found a copy and ordered it on-line yesterday.  Today the Green Mountain Club called me back and informed me there was an updated guide coming out next month sometime.  And since I also ordered an end-to-ender's map I am willing to bet it too will be updated.

Just my luck.

Until the new E2E guide comes out, I'd recommend using the info on http://www.longtrailhiking.info/ - its about as up to date as last year's End to End guide.
